Performed quality after install
8-05-2020, Met with Mark and we went to the outdoor unit. Checked and verified the motor bearings are going out. The motor will come on but start squealing and vibrating. Recommend replacing the condenser motor along with dual capacitor. 50/7.5 µF capacitor is reading out of range. Checked the rest of the system and found the evaporator coil has animal for building up on the coil and filter does not fit properly in the filter rack. Also the platform is bowing and causing the system to sink slightly into the platform. System is in the closet. Customer is aware that system needs to be replaced but he’s not prepared at this time to replace the equipment. Also discuss pricing of the condenser motor with Mark and he mentioned that he is going to perform the repairs on his own. Thank you
Came out to perform quality check on clients brand new Amana system, upon arrival spoke with client about how the system was treating them, client expressed concern that the new unit seems to be a lot louder coming out of the vents, to address this concern slowed the fan speed from 420cfm per ton down to 350 cfm per ton. This did allow for a quieter supply grill in the living room, still a little louder in the bedrooms made a suggestion of instead of using throw grilles that maybe a three way stamp face would be a little quieter due to a lot less static pressure at grille, client stated that he would try that, other wise may want to snake a couple of the ducts around a little bit so that they are not coming directly off the plenum. Client does not like the idea of using manual dampers because they don’t want to cut airflow. Then proceeded with QC by checking wiring, electrical connections, overall seal and cleanliness of job, delta t, and refrigerant charge. System is operating per man
6-18-2020, right on site to try and identify why Was there water on the floor. Found that Lonnie had already cleared the drain lines in install drain pan tablets. I use the label to verify that the system is flat. Notice the evaporator coal has lots of rest. Check the bottom side of the Evaporator coil and did not see any debris. Checked pressures on the outdoor unit and found system low on Freon. After I got approval I added the appropriate amount of Freon to increase the sub cool from 1.6 to 7° sub cool, 20.8° superheat with 131.8 suction pressure and 350 liquid pressure. All capacitors motors and compressor is working normal. Customer has had bad experience with other companies that has services equipment. Also found that the post which was not functioning at all. Removed float switch from the circuit and customer is not ready to replace at this time. Washed outdoor unit. Sign customer up with standard maintenance plan. Return system back to normal use. Came out for a prepaid maintenance on clients 2 yr old Trane system, upon arrival performed maintenance by putting system into test mode (cooling stage 2) and then checking motors, voltages, amperages, capacitors, contactor, delta T, washed out the outdoor unit with water hose, etc., etc.. system is operating per manufacturer specifications, please see maintenance checklist for details.
Fixed condensation line that was tripping float switch. Redesign line by venting after trap.
