Keep the coils and the fan in your central air conditioner’s condenser unit clean and free of any debris. Remove any dirt, debris, or leaves that crowd the fan area. To clean the coils, you have to remove some panels, lift off the lid, and use a special brush to wipe the coils and then vacuum them.
If the AC’s refrigerant are missing a decent amount of their foam coolant insulation, you can have it replaced either by a professional, or do it yourself. Just cut the insulation sleeves and wrap them in a spiral and then tape them up.
